Silvia is a fully qualified Naturopath and Bodyworker specialising in Hawaiian Lomilomi Masssage and YogaThai Massage. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Naturopathy from Australia. She holds advanced diplomas in Naturopathy, Nutritional Medicine, Herbal Medicine, and Massage.
Silvia loves to help people through nutrition, herbal medicine and touch using evidence-based, up-to date research in medicine, biochemistry, nutrition as well as traditional wisdom and ancient knowledge of human health.
She started on this path in 2009, after leaving her profession as a Marine Ecologist that took her through research expeditions all around the world to diverse places like France, California, Antarctica, Hawaii, and many Islands in the Pacific where she served as a researcher and conservationist of the marine environment.
In the past 10 years, a new call pulled her into a direction where she could have a more direct impact on people, but still with attention to safeguarding the environment of our precious Earth.
She travelled to learn the theory and practice of traditional massages in Hawai’i and in Thailand, where she obtained massage certificates and absorbed some of the wisdom of these ancient disciplines.
She went back to study science for four years and immersed myself in the discovery of the human body-mind inside out, of its capacity to find balance and health as well of its unused strengths.
In her approach to health, she uses her training as a scientist and the latest results from medical and nutritional research to inform her coinsideration of all individual cases, with care and empathy to each person. She uses observations, comparisons and analysis, along with her heart, to come to a conclusion for finding causes and solutions to diseases, illnesses and disturbances in the fields of intestinal, brain and mind, muscular and skeletal, hormonal and immune health.
She is a member and regional coordinator (Upper Northland) of Naturopaths and Medical Herbalists of New Zealand Inc.
